History of the Woodlands

The Woodlands community was built by Taylor Woodrow Homes in 1999 and is an executive guard gated community. The Woodlands is situated on 185 acres of land with 90 acres of preserved lush open space featuring magnificent 100-year-old oak trees, neighborhood paseos and expansive nature trails. The Woodlands development was built utilizing ground-oriented row housing, which ensures the privacy of each residence. Many other developments that were built at the same time, and even homes built today, utilize high density housing meaning that homes are built next to, behind, and in front of one another making privacy an issue.

In 2000 the Carmelita residences within the Woodlands were bestowed the following “Best in American Living Awards”.
